The Creative Protocol Interface Module, or CPIM, is a gateway that provides 3rd party software a direct and immediate interface with NVerzion applications. The CPIM has direct network communication with NVerzion applications such as NBase Database Manager, XPansion Archive / Storage / Distribution manager, NControl Gold event driven scheduler, NTime Gold time driven scheduler, NGest Gold dubbing tool as well as others. Through these applications the power to access all NVerzion functionality, such as Acquire, Preparation, Scheduling, Archiving / Storage / Distribution and Asset Management.
The CPIM uses a file based communication method to communicate with 3rd party software. In this method the 3rd party software writes to a shared folder the instructions it wants implemented. CPIM monitors this sub-directory for new messages, opens them, interprets them and implements them. The CPIM determines which application is to implement the instruction and forwards the command to the correct application. In a similar manner, the CPIM communicates with 3rd party software through a "response folder" that the 3rd party software monitors.
CPIM supports two standard protocols. ATIP (Automation Traffic Interface Protocol) and BXF. CPIM is the key interface for NVerzion's PSIP Implementation.
