NVERZION, a leading provider of digital broadcasting and television station automation solutions, today announced that SUNBELT Communications Group, the parent company of seven television stations and eight satellite stations, selected NVERZION for a quick turn-around installation to fully automate KYMA, Sunbelt's Yuma, Arizona-based NBC affiliate. The station's previous system was failing and required quick replacement. NVERZION assessed existing equipment, designed a custom solution, delivered and installed KYMA TV's new broadcast automation solution, and had the station back on-air in just two weeks.
KYMA TV's focus is a strong commitment to local news, and the broad suite of equipment and software solutions will ensure KYMA viewers receive the latest uninterrupted news, local information and entertainment content, while providing opportunities for the station to grow their broadcast in the future. Since the successful KYMA installation, SUNBELT has already expanded the system by adding another channel (LATV) and plans to add a third channel (Motor Trend) in the future. NVERZION modular architecture is built and based on the ease of expansion capabilities, giving SUNBELT the ability to effortlessly and economically grow its broadcast as needed.
KYMA's suite of applications included NVERZION's NGest dub station software, NPoint - a video file segmenter featuring easy-to-use clip preparation tools used to arrange multi-segmented video clips residing in the video file server for play out activities, NControl -- a sequential event playlist for simple server automation, and NBase -- a media database to manage KYMA's video server clips and source tapes. The installation also includes: NTime -- a clock-based event scheduler for multiple router sources and destinations, and NView -- an easy access database "window" enabling operator to view, filter, sort and edit media database fields.
The tools installed at KYMA dub, segment, edit and schedule broadcast material while managing video servers, VTRs, master control switchers, multiplexers, character generators, satellite receivers, cart machines, storage systems, logo inserters, still stores, routers and more for a clean and powerful broadcast. Each NVERZION component works well as part of an overall turnkey solution, or as a single stand-alone solution.
